What began 31 years ago as an offering to the inns' employees who worked on Thanksgiving Day has evolved into a special tradition for guests of the Martine Inn in Pacific Grove. The inn offers a traditional Thanksgiving Day dinner--turkey, ham and duck--with all the trimmings, prepared from scratch by Ismael Vizcaya Diaz, the inn's chef for over 29 years. Overlooking the Monterey Bay, the dining room tables are set with Gorham Silver from the 1890s, a fire roars in the fireplace and the waves crash outside. Each guest is individually served and then offered additional helpings plus dessert from the lavish buffet. Some guests of the inn’s annual Thanksgiving feast have been returning for over 20 years.
