Military Specials from California Inns
SACRAMENTO, CA [September 22, 2014]—In honor of the men and women who serve in the U.S. military, several members of the California Association of Boutique and Breakfast Inns (CABBI) are offering military specials in conjunction with Veterans’ Day (November 11, 2014). Some of the specials are also available year-round.
The 1906 Lodge at Coronado Beach near San Diego is honoring U.S. military service men and women with a Buy One, Get One Free special for the month of November. Active or retired military personnel with a valid military ID can stay one night at the 1906 Lodge and get the second, consecutive night free. Guests can choose from a variety of rooms, including the Grande Spa Suites, which boast large in-room spa tubs, private porches to catch the ocean breeze, and fireplaces facing king-sized beds. In appreciation for service to the U.S. military, Donner Lake Inn in Truckee is offering retired and active military personnel a complimentary second night with the purchase of the first night for any two-night stay over Veteran’s Day weekend (November 7-9, 2014). Guests can stay Friday night and receive Saturday night at no charge or stay Saturday night and receive Sunday night at no charge. A patriotic red, white and blue breakfast will be served over the weekend, along with afternoon snacks to celebrate the holiday. Nestled on an acre of forest across from Donner Lake, the contemporary mountain lodge features an outdoor hot tub, which is open year-round, and guest rooms with gas fireplaces, private baths and forest views. As a thank you for service to the U.S., Tradewinds Carmel will offer a military discount of 20% off midweek stays during the first three weeks in November. The inn partners with a local non-profit, Reins of Hope/Hope for Warriors, which uses equine therapy and counselors with a proven track record. The retreat includes a stay at the inn and group bonding activities such as cooking classes, massage, facials, yoga, dinner, fireside chats, and a counseling session.
