Hot Diggety-Dog! A New Camp Bow Wow® Opens in Middlesex Tomorrow, Wednesday, December 22nd! The Premier Doggy Day and Overnight Camp® is now accepting Howliday Day Camp & Boarding reservations! Call now to set up a FREE day of Day Camp for your favorite hound today!

Middlesex, NJ: Calling all perky Pekinese from Piscataway, handsome hounds from Edison, motley mutts from Middlesex and timid terriers from Woodbridge. It’s time to become a member of the Camp Bow Wow pack. On Wednesday, December 22nd at 7am, the country’s Premier Doggy Day and Overnight Camp will open its doggy doors to Campers. Now Middlesex dog owners can leave their pups to socialize and play while they’re running errands, at work or traveling, with the confidence that their dogs will be well cared for by Jennifer and Chris Senft and their well-trained team of Certified Camp Counselors®.

Conveniently located at 288 Lincoln Boulevard near the intersection of Routes 607 and 287 in Middlesex, the state-of-the-art domain for dogs was designed with amenities guaranteed to get tails wagging. The approximately 8,000-square-foot facility has four, large, climate-controlled indoor play areas with adjoining outside yards, and a special Teacup play area for pint-sized pups. Campers will check in daily in the camp-style lobby. Camp Bow Wow Middlesex, NJ, will also offer bathing and grooming services. Dog owners can check on their pup’s antics in the play yards at any time by logging on to the Camp Bow Wow Middlesex, NJ, website or through the Camp Bow Wow iPhone® app to watch real-time footage broadcast by one of the many Camper Cams® installed around the camp.

“With the Christmas howliday season in full swing, many Middlesex dog-owners will find Camp Bow Wow is a paw-fect place to board their pups during the holidays. Camp Bow Wow is a great place for a dog every day of the year,” said Jennifer Senft, owner and Top Dog of Camp Bow Wow Middlesex. “Our Campers get plenty of exercise, play and human attention. In Camp Bow Wow’s all-day play environment pups can go between the indoor, climate-controlled play areas and the adjacent outside areas at will: climb on play bridges, paddle in puppy pools in summer or curl up in a sunny nook for a nap whenever they chose.”

Camp Bow Wow takes the worry out of the holidays for dog owners on the road. But it’s also a great place for dogs to spend the holidays, even if the family is staying in town. “If you’re planning to entertain a large crowd at your home during the holidays, sending your dog to Camp during the party can alleviate a lot of stress for both of you,” continued Jennifer. “Especially if he or she is unnerved by large groups of people or if you have a guest that’s afraid or allergic to dogs. Confining a pup to a separate room or out in the yard while guests are in the house often tends to raise a dog’s anxiety level, since he/she generally wants to be where the action is and the people are. Dog owners may also experience a subtle rise in their own stress level because of the constant underlying worry that their dog will either get out and disrupt the party or filch rich foods from the table that can make him/her sick.”

All campers at Camp Bow Wow are under the constant supervision of a Camp Counselor, trained in pet CPR, first aid, dog behavior, group play dynamics, safety/health management and, of course, cleaning procedures. Camp Bow Wow Middlesex will be staffed with one counselor to every 15 Campers. For the safety and security of all, new Campers are required to participate in a free interview day, before they attend camp. Canine Campers must be at least four months old; spayed or neutered if six months or older; up-to-date on their rabies and distemper vaccinations; have had a bordetella (canine cough) vaccination within the last six months; and be in general good health and of sound temperament.

“Happy dogs at Camp Bow Wow don’t experience the same anxieties that dogs boarding in traditional kennels often have because of being crated and bored,” continued Chris Senft. “Our Campers are so busy having fun – socializing and playing with the other dogs during the day – they’re tired out and ready to relax at the end of the day, whether they’re going home or staying with us overnight.” After a full day of play, overnight Campers at Camp Bow Wow Middlesex will retreat to private, climate-controlled cabins, for dinner, downtime and a tasty Campfire Treat. The spacious cabins, all furnished with comfy cots and soft fleece blankets, are large enough that several Campers from the same family can bunk together at their parents’ request. To avoid upset stomachs, parents of overnight Campers are encouraged to bring their pup’s food from home. Camp Bow Wow Middlesex can accommodate up to 50 overnight campers. Camp fees are all-inclusive.

Avid dog lovers, the New Jersey natives discovered Camp Bow Wow about five years ago and made it their goal to open a Camp of their own. Always an animal lover, Jennifer is looking forward to working with the dogs at camp and giving back to the community at the same time. Camp Bow Wow Middlesex will be working with local humane organizations to foster homeless dogs and help find them new homes. The Senfts would like to thank the mayor and town of Middlesex for welcoming their new venture.
