Capio opens antenatal clinics in south of Sweden
Capio, one of Sweden’s and Europe’s leading healthcare companies, is strengthening its primary healthcare offering through the opening of antenatal clinics at twelve of the company’s primary care units in the south of Sweden. As from 1 September, maternity healthcare will be included in the care choice model within Region Skåne, the self-governing authority of the southernmost county of Sweden.
After accreditation from Region Skåne, Capio is opening antenatal clinics associated with twelve of Capio City Clinic’s primary care units in the county of Skåne in the localities of Broby, Båstad, Helsingborg Mariastaden, Helsingborg Söder, Klippan, Kristianstad, Lund, Landskrona, Malmö Centrum, Malmö Singelgatan, Malmö Västra hamnen and Ängelholm. All clinics will offer maternity healthcare, counseling on contraception and sexual health and cervical smear tests.
“Now that we are able to open antenatal clinics at our primary care units in Skåne, we can offer patients a more complete healthcare offering at one and the same location. In addition to daytime opening hours, several of the antenatal clinics are also open in the evenings on certain weekdays and can be contacted via phone or email. The midwives have extensive experience from both obstetric and maternity healthcare. Patients are welcome to list themselves at the Capio website www.capio.se or at the reception of each primary care unit.

On behalf of the county councils of Skåne, Blekinge, Halland, Gothenburg, Örebro and Stockholm, quality healthcare including general practice and specialist medical care are offered. The care choice model in Skåne means that patients have the right to choose their GP clinic as well as their child care clinic, which from 1 September will also include antenatal care.
