Capio owned Actica Omsorg acquires Alecta´s home for the elderly AB Björnbo at Lidingö Actica Omsorg AB has acquired 100 per cent of the shares in AB Björnbo, Alecta´s company for elderly care services at Lidingö in Stockholm. The operations will be taken over as of October 1, 2001. The care agreement with the city of Lidingö will extend to December 31, 2004, and can be prolonged another two years at a time. The organisation has a turnover of more than SEK 30 M and has about 65 employees. "- It is with great pleasure we are finally able to set up such a well established and appreciated organisation in the region of Stockholm. This also gives us a good platform to develop our Secure Living concept", says Sture Ericsson, president of Actica Omsorg and head of the business area within Capio. AB Björnbo is responsible for the operations of a nursing home for elderly and provides both home and security services for the elderly persons living in the senior facilities. Actica intends to develop the Secure Living concept even further. The facilities comprise more than 230 senior apartments as well as a nursing home for 44 persons. The premise have been sold to the real-estate company owned by the shipowners Wallenius and Björnbo will be their tenant. Alecta pension insurance, mutual (former Insurance Company SPP, mutual) is the vendor of both the operating company and the premise. Björnbo is situated at Lidingö and began to be used in the mid 50s. It is considered to be one of Sweden's most well reputed senior facilities. Actica Omsorg is a company that specializes in individual elderly care services with operations both in Sweden and in other Scandinavian countries.
