Capio's Research Foundation established

Capio's Research Foundation established The Board of Directors of Capio today adopted the statutes of the Capio Research Foundation. A provision of SEK 10 M had been made for the Foundation in the year-end accounts for 2000. The Capio Research Foundation shall promote scientific research within the health and medical care sector. The Capio Research Foundation will support medical research that is of importance to Capio's business operations. A provision of SEK 10 M was made in the 12-month accounts for 2000 for research and development. The Foundation will be based in Gothenburg and a Board of Directors will shortly be appointed. "Active research is becoming increasingly important in efforts to attract and retain skilled personnel and to develop our medical operations," says Capio's President, Per Båtelson. Funds will be granted following thorough and impartial examination of the applications submitted. Such examination will be conducted on an annual basis commencing in autumn 2001. The Research Foundation will be subject to the supervision of the County Administrative Board.
