Press Release

Oslo, Norway - 02 February 2022

CO2 Capsol and Hitachi Zosen Inova (HZI) – a Swiss Japanese greentech company -
have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on initiatives to
implement CO2 Capsol´s Hot Potassium Carbonate carbon capture technology on
Waste to Energy (WtE) plants.

Plant operators and key players in the WtE industry are increasingly looking to
Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) to decarbonize their plants.

The main objective of the MoU between CO2 Capsol and HZI is to bring together
their combined expertise to develop joint offering of solutions to accelerate
the implementation of carbon capture solutions to the WtE industry, combining
CO2 Capsol´s energy efficient and cost competitive End of Pipe (EoP) carbon
capture technology utilizing the safe Hot Potassium Carbonate (HPC) solvent, and
HZI´s EPC experience to deliver turnkey Waste to Energy plants.

Jan Kielland, CEO of CO2 Capsol, says: “Capsol EoP is ideally suited to
capturing CO2 from post-combustion. In HZI, we have found a partner with whom we
collaborate to implement a safe and cost-effective carbon capture solution in
Waste to Energy plants.”

Fabio Dinale, Vice President Business Development at HZI, adds: “This technology
allows us to offer our customers a robust and efficient technology particularly
suited to WtE plants.”

The Memorandum of Understanding is non-exclusive and is valid for three years.

About CO2 Capsol

Carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) is crucial to achieving net zero
emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050. CO2 Capsol´s carbon capture technology is
an essential part in a successful clean energy transition. Carbon capture
contributes both to directly reducing emissions in critical economic sectors and
to remove CO2 from facilities such as Waste-to-Energy (WtE) and biomass power
plants - so-called negative CO2 emissions. Negative CO2 emissions will be
essential in compensating for hard to abate emission sources. CO2 Capsol is
proud to be part of the solution for a sustainable future.

CO2 Capsol has a very competitive technology protected by IP rights. The base
case revenue model is to license out patents. We negotiate directly with project
owners or participate by collaboration with industrial players.

CO2 Capsol is quoted on Euronext NOTC in Oslo (symbol: CAPSOL).
