Press Release

Oslo, Norway - 08 March 2022

On 26 October 2021 CO2 Capsol AS and WOIMA Finland Oy, the developer and
supplier of the innovative wasteWOIMA® Waste-to-Energy (WtE) power plants,
signed a cooperation agreement for the development and supply of small-scale
modular carbon capture solutions, primarily in connection with the wasteWOIMA®
WtE power plant deliveries, or to existing CO2-generating processes.

CO2 Capsol and Woima are entering the next phase in their ongoing collaboration
with the construction of a next generation Synthetic Methane (LSNG) plant at the
Westenergy WtE plant site in Mustasaari next to Vaasa in 2023-2025.

The key technologies in the LSNG production are carbon capture, hydrogen
electrolyzer and methanation. WOIMA will deliver an innovative modular carbon
capture plant extracting CO2 directly out of the Westenergy’s flue gas stream,
using CO2 Capsol´s Capsol EoP carbon capture technology. This ccWOIMA plant will
capture and inject 20,000 tons of CO2 p.a. to the LSNG process and
simultaneously cut 25% of the Westenergy’s fossil carbon emissions.

LSNG will eventually replace LNG in power generation and as traffic fuel. The
Westenergy LSNG plant will offer a test bed for new technologies and act as a
showpiece of Finnish know-how in the field.

The project at the Westenergy WtE plant supports Finland's journey towards a
carbon-neutral future in line with EU's "Fit for 55" goals, promotes decoupling
from fossil fuels and plays a key role in the region's quest for carbon-negative
district heating.

Henri Kinnunen, Chief Executive Officer of WOIMA, said: “The LSNG market is
rapidly growing to a multi-billion-euro business segment, where carbon capture
plays an essential role. WOIMA, with Capsol’s energy-efficient carbon capture
technology, is well-positioned to deliver the modular and scalable ccWOIMA
solutions to this fast-expanding market.”

Jan Kielland, Chief Executive Officer of CO2 Capsol, commented: “WOIMA, with its
modular and scalable ccWOIMA solution is, together with CO2 Capsol´s unique
carbon capture technology, a perfect solution for the expanding LSNG market. We
are proud to be part of this exciting project together with our partner Woima.”

About CO2 Capsol
CO2 Capsol is a technology provider offering cost competitive, energy efficient
post-combustion carbon capture technology based on the proven, safe, and
environmentally friendly HPC (Hot Potassium Carbonate) solvent. CO2 Capsol´s
Capsol EoP (End of Pipe) is a scalable and flexible retrofit carbon capture
technology for large-scale emission sources like Waste-to-Energy (WtE), biomass,
cement, steel, LNG, hydrogen, and chemical industry plants.

Carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) is crucial to achieving net zero
emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050. CO2 Capsol´s carbon capture technology is
an essential part in a successful clean energy transition. Carbon capture
contributes both to directly reducing emissions in critical economic sectors and
to remove CO2 from facilities such as Waste-to-Energy (WtE) and biomass power
plants - so-called negative CO2 emissions. Negative CO2 emissions will be
essential in compensating for hard to abate emission sources. CO2 Capsol is
proud to be part of the solution for a sustainable future.

CO2 Capsol is listed on Euronext Growth Oslo, Norway (ticker: CAPSL).
