Cardo wins order worth SEK 100 million for brake equipment for Danish trains

Cardo wins order worth SEK 100 million for brake equipment for Danish trains Cardo's business area Rail has received an order from the Italian train builder AnsaldoBreda for electronic control and monitoring systems for brakes for 83 new trains, which are to be supplied to the Danish national railway company DSB. This order is worth approximately SEK 100 million and there is an option on equipment for a further 67 trains. As a result of this order, Cardo Rail is further strengthening its position in the Nordic market when it comes to control and monitoring systems. The Danish trains will be equipped both with Rail's new Gemini 2 electronic system, whose functions include control and distribution of the braking force, and with a new compact integrated relay valve for control of brake pressure. The equipment will be produced at Rail's plant in Italy, and deliveries will begin in February 2002. The new diesel-driven trains, each consisting of four cars, are scheduled to operate on the Copenhagen - Århus line. The first trains are expected to enter service in 2003. There is an option on a further 67 trains of the same type. Cardo Rail is a business area in the Cardo group and one of the world's largest manufacturers of brake systems for rail vehicles.
