CareerFoundry to Launch First User Experience Course for Voice Design with Amazon Alexa
Berlin, June 8, 2017 - Today, CareerFoundry announces the company’s first comprehensive user experience (UX) course for voice design.
CareerFoundry, the Berlin-based leader in online education, worked closely with Amazon to build the Voice Design with Amazon Alexa course to provide unique UX skills for designing intuitive voice controlled products and apps. It will be offered as part of The UX School by CareerFoundry, open to both beginners and professionals alike, when it launches in summer 2017.
Raffaela Rein, CEO of CareerFoundry, said: “By 2020, half of all web searches will be performed by voice. With such high usage, voice technology will be much more prominent in the design process - and currently there is very little skilled talent in the area. This course will be the first to change that, providing an opportunity for UX designers to get ahead of the curve and specialize in the field.”
“Voice is a brand new way of interacting with technology, and one that we believe is the future of computing,” said Rob Pulciani, Director, Amazon Alexa. “We’re excited to work with CareerFoundry to provide support specifically for UX designers, so that they can create even more engaging voice-first experiences.”
Structured to cater to newcomers and seasoned UX designers, the course will initiate learners on the new design knowledge required for voice interactions, specifically in relation to Amazon Alexa. Course topics range from the emotional appeal of voice technology, to creating complex voice user flows for different types of interactions, the complexities of combining voice interfaces with graphic user interfaces, and integrating natural voice cues and interactions into traditional UX thinking.
Voice Design with Amazon Alexa will launch in summer 2017. It can be taken as a standalone course or as part of the Certified UX Designer program.
