New plates but same old favourites when it comes to Brits and their cars
September is truly the month for cars! Not only has the Ford Focus Mk1 been deemed Brits’ most favourite car of the past 25 years*, but new car registration plates are being released - as well as the Porsche 911 reaching the grand old age of 50! With this truly car-focused month ahead of us, online car finance specialist Car Finance 247 has revisited some of its own research to reveal information an average motorist may not have known ...
- 41% of Brits have owned a car manufactured by Ford and is still a firm favourite with 17% of us;
- if money were no object, then the iconic Aston Martin is still Joe Public’s dream car;
- the Mini was voted as the least favourite car;
- Suschesky Val in Moscow has the dubious honour of being the most congested road in the world. The average traffic jam in 2007 lasted almost 40 days;
- 29% of all cars sold by Car Finance 247 are black;
- in March 2013, 4 out of 5 people planning to get a newer car were looking for a used vehicle.
