Carousel Industries Closes Acquisition of OmniPresence
Acquisition of OmniPresence Strengthens Carousel's Ability to Deliver Solutions that Combine The Best in Unified Communications, Video Conferencing and A/V
Exeter, Rhode Island, April 12, 2011 -- Carousel Industries, a leader in data networking and unified communications, announced that it has completed its previously announced acquisition of OmniPresence, Inc., an integrator of A/V and video conferencing services.
Now that the acquisition is closed, Carousel Industries adds considerable strength to its A/V capability and its ability to seamlessly integrate these elements into a holistic, unified communications environment within the enterprise. The newly acquired company, which is based in Marlborough, MA, now forms the core of Carousel's Visual Communications and Collaboration Group.
"Now that our acquisition of OmniPresence has closed, we have an even stronger A/V and video conferencing integration capability,” commented Jeff Gardner, chief executive officer of Carousel Industries. “Through our Visual Communications and Collaboration Group, we will help our customers reduce costs and increase efficiencies as they incorporate visual collaboration into their unified communications infrastructure.”
Tom Wing, chief executive officer of OmniPresence, commented: "We’re excited to be joining forces with Carousel Industries. Combining the talents and skill sets of our two companies makes us uniquely positioned to lead in the Unified Communications arena."
OmniPresence established itself in the market by providing high-end expertise in video conferencing solutions. During the last several years, the company increased its focus on designing and installing systems including high definition, custom touch panels and networked A/V solutions, firmly establishing the company in the A/V systems integration space. The company specializes in multi-site installations for enterprise customers.
The purchase of OmniPresence marks the third acquisition by Carousel this year. Since January, the company has completed its purchase of Westwood, Mass.-based TAC Centre and Farmingdale, NY-based Juma Technology. Last year, the company acquired Atlanta-based LANForce Consulting Group, assets from Canton, Mass.-based TriNET Systems and Canada-based BrantTel Networks.
