Castellum signs 20-year agreement with the Örebro County Region for approximately 8,246 sqm of office space in central Örebro
In February 2021, a letter of intent was signed between Castellum and Örebro County Region regarding the possibility of renting office space on Klostergatan 23. The agreement that has now been signed relates to 8,246 sqm of office space spread over three floors. The Örebro County Region can consequently gather the majority of its administration within one and the same premises.
The Örebro County Region has for a long time had the aim of locating all its operations within a certain geographical cluster in central Örebro. The fact that the administrative activities will now be co-located at Klostergatan 23 provides a greater opportunity for employees to reach each other on foot or by bicycle, thanks to a shorter distance between the administrative premises and the Örebro University Hospital (USÖ). The proximity to public transport via Resecentrum also connects the county and surrounding regions, both for employees and visitors, and facilitates environmentally friendly modes of transport via bus and train.
- We are happy to now be able to move forward together with Castellum to create a modern workplace for our employees. It also provides good opportunities for business development when more of our adminstrative staff are in the same location, says Andreas Svahn, chairman of the Regional Board.
In total, the co-location includes about 600 employees and the tenant adaptations that will be implemented are decided by the operations' needs, governing principles and desired way of working. The region plans for an activity-based approach and Castellum has the task of creating modern and appropriate workplaces for the Örebro County Region. The renovation will be planned in detail jointly over the next few years and then carried out starting in October 2023.
- We are experiencing a great demand for office space with proximity and opportunity for good communications. Being able to offer this office solution for the Region feels very good. The Region is a large employer whose employees now get to meet the working life of the future in new and adapted premises and we at Castellum are happy and proud of being trusted with this major commitment, says Per Gawelin, CEO of Castellum Region Mitt.
The property, formally named Tullen 8, was built in 1976. It is environmentally certified according to BREEAM In-Use Good and is Örebro's largest office property, which in addition to flexible office solutions also offers restaurant, conference center, gym, bicycle garage and office hotel. The Örebro County Region will preliminary move into the premises on 1 November 2024 and the agreement extends over 20 years.
