Scribona consolidates its position as the leading Nordic player in the market for IT infrastructure. Intentia and Scribona have signed an agreement for outsourcing of Intentia's infrastructure operations in the Nordic countries. According to the agreement, Scribona will take over sales, marketing and support of IBM's servers to Intentia's customers in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark. As compensation, Intentia will receive a fixed sum of SEK 71 million and a variable sum based on future sales. "These operations will be integrated with our rapidly expanding business area Scribona Solutions, and are perfectly suited to our strategy of creating profitable growth in this business area," says Örjan Håkanson, President of Scribona. "This marks an important step towards our goal of becoming the leading Nordic player in advanced IT infrastructure," adds Håkanson. "Based on Intentia's strong position in the market, we expect the agreement to make a major contribution towards the attainment of our annual growth target of around 40% in this business area over the next few years," says Lars Palm, Vice President of Scribona and head of Scribona Solutions. "Already next year, the agreement will provide additional sales of more than SEK 200 million with an operating margin after goodwill amortization of at least 6%. We have previously established a fruitful partnership with IBM and are already the Nordic countries' leading value- added distributor of IBM's heavy server products, AS400, NetFinity and RS6000. The agreement will further strengthen this partnership," continues Palm. "The sale is a natural part of our strategy to focus on core operations," says Hans Nedenius, Vice President of Intentia International. "We know that the agreement will give Intentia and our customers, together with IBM, a strong and competent partner in Scribona when it comes to infrastructure. At the same time, it will enable us to concentrate on e-business, one of our key strategic growth areas." Nedenius continues, "The agreement with Scribona is our solution for the Nordic market. Our chosen tactic in other markets is a matter for the future". "We believe that this initiate offers favorable prospects for all of the involved parties," says Tore Hallquist, Nordic Business Partner sales manager, IBM. "Intentia will be able to focus on sales of business solutions based on Movex while Scribona's newly established company takes care of sales support and service for IT infrastructure. Our customers will be offered complete installation by a team of specialists from the respective areas. For IBM we anticipate new business opportunities and, not least, satisfied customers."
