Scribona sells its last computer retailer in Norway In order to focus computer distribution operations on the wholesale and agency businesses, Scribona's last remaining retail unit, Office in Oslo, was sold on January 1, 1999. In 1998 Office Oslo had turnover of MNOK 120 and 50 employees. The buyer is the Norwegian listed company SuperOffice ASA, one of the European leaders in sales of customer support systems. The buyer will also take over Scribona's franchise operations in Norway, Scribona Partner A/S. SuperOffice, which in 1998 acquired the Nordic countries' leading distributor of Macintosh products, Office line, sees this acquisition as strategically important for continued expansion in the PC market. In connection with the sale, a two-year Nordic delivery agreement has been signed between the distributor Scribona Computer Products and SuperOffice. Scribona's document handling operations in Norway, conducted under the name of Office Document, will remain within the Scribona Office Machines division. Scribona's Computer Products business area consists of the Scribona Computer Products and Toshiba PC divisions. Scribona Computer Products is one of the Nordic countries' leading distributors and offers a wide range of computers with related products and services. The Toshiba PC division is the Nordic general agent for Toshiba, the world's largest supplier of laptop computers.
