Applications Open for Cathay Pacific Airways “I Can Fly” San Francisco 2013 Program
Cathay Pacific is welcoming applications for the sixth iteration of the successful “I Can Fly” San Francisco program, which invites high schoolers with a true passion for travel and aviation on a unique educational adventure. Interested eleventh- and twelfth-grade high school students may submit applications online at http://us.cathaypacific.com/icanfly from now until September 30, 2013.
The “I Can Fly” San Francisco 2013 program will run from October through December and gives high school students a comprehensive and hands-on look at the airline industry.
Guided entirely by dedicated Cathay Pacific staff volunteers, the eight-week academy covers a range of aviation topics and allows a group of classmates to learn various aspects from flight operations to inflight services and engineering. These real-world settings have shown to provide invaluable perspective for young students who are preparing to make choices in post-secondary education and their careers.
The “I Can Fly” program was launched in 2003 at Cathay Pacific’s Hong Kong headquarters and due to its success, brought to the US for the first time in 2009.
The program runs weekly and operates after school hours at San Francisco International Airport, its vicinity or downtown San Francisco. For further details or to apply to the “I Can Fly” San Francisco 2013 program, please visit http://us.cathaypacific.com/icanfly.
