Caverion enters into another significant Managed Services agreement with Locum – now for Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge, Sweden
Caverion and Locum AB have signed a new significant Managed Services agreement covering Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge, southern Stockholm County. The contract starts in the second half of 2019 and runs for 5 years, with an option for an additional 3 years. The value of the contract is approximately EUR 5 million annually.
Caverion has an ongoing Managed Services agreement with Locum covering 7 hospitals and 12 healthcare facilities, a total of 600,000 square metres. With the new Huddinge Hospital agreement, Caverion’s contracts with Locum will cover over one million square metres of floor space, which is about 50 per cent of Locum’s total property portfolio.
“Locum and Caverion already have good cooperation. Healthcare properties are not like other property types. They contain a lot of technical systems that have to work around the clock, and Caverion has the experience and competence necessary for this task,” says Per Högdahl, Healthcare Property Manager, Huddinge Hospital at Locum.
At the Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge, Caverion will be responsible for Managed Operations, including Technical Maintenance with around the clock operations and surveillance through a remote centre. The goal is to maintain the condition of the properties and to ensure a good life cycle economy and satisfied tenants.
Securing high-quality operation and optimising the resource use in properties requires proactive, long-term work. This will be done by an organisation with high capacity for executing, analysing and advising technical decisions related to properties, and through coordination between operations and projects to minimise the effect on the everyday operations of the hospital.
“We are of course pleased with the additional trust given to us by an important client. Given the demanding hospital environment, our client naturally has very high standards for uninterrupted operations and safety. Together with Locum, we plan to further develop and improve the facility management through a long-term and sustainable relationship where the end users are in focus,” says Juha Mennander, Head of Division Sweden of Caverion.
Locum AB is one of Sweden's major property managers with a property portfolio of approximately 2.1 million square metres of premises in Stockholm County. Locum AB is owned by Stockholm County Council.
15,800 employees work at the Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge. The hospital has 1,600 beds and treats 1,580,000 patients yearly.
