Caverion implements cleanroom premises for the new laser R&D center for Light Conversion in Lithuania

Laser technology manufacturer Light Conversion has chosen Caverion for the installation of cleanrooms for their brand-new laser R&D center in Vilnius, Lithuania.

“We have chosen Caverion Lithuania as the contractor for the installation of the newly planned cleanrooms. We made the choice based on our previous experience when a similar technical solution was installed in our premises, competitive price and excellent reputation of the contractor," says Donatas Podėnas, Deputy CEO of Light Conversion.

The cleanrooms, occupying 1,800 square meters, comply with ISO 7 cleanliness level. In addition to the cleanroom, auxiliary technical areas  will be implemented. The turnkey project is expected to be completed by January 2022.

"We have been cooperating with Light Conversion, the flagship of the laser industry, for many years. Since 2014 we have been providing building maintenance services for the plant buildings and in 2018, we successfully implemented cleanroom premises. We greatly appreciate this long-term partnership. Our main task in this project is to make sure that the cleanrooms are fully ready for operation in budget and time and in accordance with the highest standards ,” says Egidijus Šydeikis, Managing Director of Caverion Lithuania.

Light Conversion is planning to invest more than 15 million euros in the overall construction of the new laser plant and to create  200-300 new jobs.

Light Conversion, founded in 1994 with roots at the Vilnius University Laser Research Center, is a pioneer in femtosecond optical parametric amplifiers (OPAs) and Yb-based femtosecond laser sources. Currently, it is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of femtosecond lasers.
