Caverion provides total technical solution for six student residential buildings in Norway
Caverion has signed a contract with the general contractor Veidekke AS to deliver all building systems for six new residential buildings for student accommodation in Sogndal, Norway. The delivery includes heating and sanitation, ventilation and air conditioning, electricity and automation systems. In addition to project execution, Caverion is responsible for the design and engineering and project management. The value of the contract is approximately EUR 2.3 million.
The buildings under construction are owned by the student organisation Studentsamskipnaden Sogn og Fjordande. With 150 apartments and parking garage for 180 cars, the total area of all six buildings amounts to 8,000 m2.
Department manager for Veidekke Sogn og Fjordande, Svein Even Dale, says they chose Caverion because there are clear advantages in engaging a technical contractor that can deliver all technical disciplines and is involved in every stage of the project – from design to project management and execution.
“Dealing with only one point of contact reduces our project-related risks, and saves us time and money. Unnecessary interfaces between disciplines are removed, and we can trust that all technical systems work together in the optimum way.”
Caverion’s work has already started, and it will be completed in July 2016.
