Cavotec wins Panzerbelt orders in Middle East

Global maritime engineering specialist, Cavotec MSL, has secured two major orders for the Group’s Panzerbelt systems and associated equipment from customers in the Middle East serving the region’s expanding container trade.

”The Middle East is a key market for us, and the maritime sector is no exception. We look forward to continuing to provide innovative and environmentally friendly technologies to our customers in the region,” says Cavotec CEO, Ottonel Popesco.

Dubai Maritime City has ordered Cavotec’s Panzerbelt system, which will be installed on a cable trench for twin ship transfer carriages. Scheduled for installation in December, the system has been tailored to specific customer requirements.

The second order involves Cavotec’s Super Panzerbelt system which will be installed in the Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT), at Jeddah’s Islamic Port, Saudi Arabia. Billed as a world-class container facility, the RSGT is due to open in late 2009.
