The Port Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA) is pleased to announce its continued growth with the incorporation of two new member companies: crane manufacturer Terex Cranes and container logistics solutions designer Loxystem AB. “It’s a pleasure to welcome new members to PEMA. We look forward to working with our colleagues at both Terex and Loxystem; both companies bring with them a wealth of industry experience from their specific areas of expertise,” says PEMA President, Ottonel Popesco. With 50 manufacturing facilities worldwide and sales in 170 countries, Terex is one of the largest construction equipment companies in the world. The Terex Cranes division supplies a wide range of high performance mobile cranes to various industry sectors, including the international ports market, where the company currently specialises in the manufacture of container handling reach stackers. Swedish-headquartered Loxystem develops innovative new products for container logistics, making use of the latest technology to help increase port security, productivity and safety. The company’s new Remote Controlled Automatic Twistlock (RAT) is designed to speed vessel turnaround, reduce labour costs and improve worker safety by enabling containers to be discharged immediately upon arrival of the vessel without the need to manually unlock twistlocks.
