Survey Reveals Parents Worry of Unhealthy Nursery School Food

Revealed: The poor food standards in some nurseries outline the lack of the lack of essential vitamins and minerals in infants’ diets.

A Mumsnet survey released yesterday, found that only 34 per cent of parents were happy with the food being served up in their children’s nurseries with processed meals and cheap meats being among the most common meal options. With some nurseries spending as little as 25p per day on children’s meals, many infants are potentially missing out on essential vitamins and minerals needed to stay healthy and maintain optimum growth and development. With all the tempting ‘treats’ on offer at school, it can be hard to encourage your child to eat the nutritious food, meaning that may miss out on essential vitamins and minerals throughout the day. Nutrigen, a new range of unique nutritional ‘sprinkle’ vitamin and mineral supplements, have been designed by doctors specifically for young children, to provide parents with a fresh approach to toddlers’ healthy diet and nutrition. Nutritional expert, Dr Sarah Brewer says; “Parents often face the difficult task of ensuring their child is receiving all the nutrition they need. Nutritional supplements that provide added fortification to a child’s diet provide added peace of mind to parents that they’re looking out for the development and healthy growth of their child.” Nutrigen sprinkles are recommended for children between six months and two years, and can be applied to any semi-solid food without changing the taste. What’s more, the sprinkles are light and discreet so they are easily hidden in food and undetectable to any eagle-eyed fussy eaters and provide a good alternative to supplement pills with their simple ‘sprinkle application’. Vitamixin sprinkle sachets are free of allergens and contain the full Dietary Reference Intake (DRI) of 10 essential vitamins and 4 minerals that are designed to ensure children receive the nutrients needed to support growth, energy levels, blood and immune health. Vitamixin (£6.99 for box of 30 sachets) are available from The Nutri Centre, all good health food stores and pharmacies. --- ENDS --- For more information, samples and imagery please contact Charlotte Dormon at CCD Public Relations on 020 7434 4100 or charlotte@ccdpr.com
