Anchorage Patients Have New Option for Outpatient Surgery
19 Leading Area Surgeons Partner in new Ambulatory Surgery Center
Anchorage, AK (Dec. 16, 2010) — The physician partners of the Surgery Center of Anchorage (SCoA) are proud to announce the opening of their newly constructed ambulatory surgery center. Following a successful inspection by Medicare, the first surgical procedures were performed on December 6, 2010. The new facility is a joint venture between 19 of the Anchorage area’s leading surgeons and the national surgery center management company Regent Surgical Health. The new state-of-the-art full service surgery center initially will provide services in GYN, General Surgery, Colo Rectal, ENT, Pain, GI and Urology.
SCoA is open from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and can be reached by calling (907) 563.1800. The Surgery Center of Anchorage is located at 4001 Laurel Street, Unit A, Anchorage, AK 99508.

The new facility is a welcome addition to the medical and dental tenants at 4001 Laurel Street. “We looked at building a new facility from the ground up, but it made more sense to breathe new life into an existing structure,” adds Mitchell-Springer. “Gutting and rebuilding the vacant surgery center was the right decision for our partners and the existing medical complex.”
