The conference is May 17-18 in Chicago.
Regent Chief Executive Officer and co-founder, Thomas Mallon, Chief Development Officer, Jeffery Simmons and Chief Operations Officer, Nap Gary will present “An Analysis of What Works and What Doesn’t--Key Thoughts for Physician / Hospital Joint Ventures” on Friday, May 18, 1:50--2:30 p.m.
Attendees will learn about Regent’s proprietary ownership models that provide doctors and hospital administrators what they need to ensure long term success.
“The great majority of our facility partners are hospital / physician joint ventures,” says Regent CEO, Thomas Mallon. “Management groups are scrambling to offer this model which we have been deploying for nearly a decade.”
Regent is currently partnered with 24 centers in the U.S. and Europe. Seventeen of those are joint ventures with hospital and health system partners. Regent’s most recent partnerships include Bayonne Medical Center, Lodi Memorial Hospital, Leesburg Regional Medical Center and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. In February, Regent announced its first international hospital / physician JV between Dublin-based Neurosurgery Ireland, Hermitage Medical Center in Dublin, and Chicago-based Accelitech. This is the first partnership of its kind in Ireland.
Thomas Mallon is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Regent Surgical Health. Mallon has significant experience in venture capital funds, turnarounds, and physician recruitment. He brings his expertise in all aspects of clinical and financial operations to each Regent facility.
Jeffrey Simmons oversees all Regent acquisition and development efforts. Simmons began his successful 25-plus year career in healthcare as Vice President of Marketing for American Medical International where he headed business development for 18 hospitals. He has been the CEO of two specialty hospitals, an associate CEO of a full service acute care hospital, the founder and CEO of the Immune Suppressed Institute, a physician management company servicing HIV patients, and founder and Executive Vice President of IntensiCare, a venture-financed hospitalist company.
Nap Gary oversees all operations and physician relations at Regent centers. He has worked in the healthcare industry for 23 years and served as Senior Vice President and Assistant Corporate Counsel for HealthSouth Corporation. He spent 14 years at the Haskell Slaughter Young and Rediker, LLC law firm. Gary currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the ASC Association.
