Cell Network acquires E-business company with operations in England, Germany, Switzerland, France and Sweden As part of its objective to become a leader in Europe, Cell Network AB has acquired, Cell Strategy Limited, recently established with operations focused on E-business strategy. More than 20 experienced strategy- consultants have been recruited; all have backgrounds from large management-consulting companies such as Boston Consulting Group, Anderson Consulting Strategic Services, Monitor Company, Arthur D. Little and Bain & Co. "This means that we are quickly acquiring comprehensive coverage of the European market and that we are strengthening our existing strategy expertise significantly," says Marcus Bäcklund, chief executive officer of Cell Network AB. "Cell Strategy Limited will grow rapidly and the objective is for the company to have slightly more than 150 E-business strategy consultants in more than ten offices in Europe within the next 18 months, and to also establish operations in the United States before the summer of 2000." Through Cell Strategy Limited, Cell Network is able to offer in-depth international strategy expertise in the new digital economy and provide what customers are demanding in terms of new price models, distribution of risk, technology strategies, modern customer relations and, above all, greater speed and faster decisions. Bjørnar Jensen will be President of the company. Like a number of other members of the company's management, both executives joined Cell Strategy Limited from Boston-based Monitor Company, one of the world's four leading global strategy-consulting companies, which has approximately 1,000 consultants, including about 300 in Europe. Peter Nordström was President for the Nordic Region and Bjørnar Jensen for Switzerland, and both were members of Monitor's European management group.
