Cell Network and Art Technology Group took Kimoda from vision to reality Kimoda is the name of the new interactive portal for children and adults. Ledstiernan and Polarn O. Pyret are among those behind the venture. Cell Network is responsible for the whole production, and Art Technology Group (ATG) is responsible for the software that can create personal relationships with 4.5 million Swedish children and parents. In total, 70 people have been working on the project, and the contract is valued by Cell Network at about SEK 30 million. What was originally conceived as a pure e-commerce portal has developed gradually into a meeting place for children and adults. Families with children aged 0-13 can shop from a wide range of children's clothing, videos, toys and books. A parents' forum offers advice, inspiration and experiences. There is also Kimoda Kids - a play zone where children aged 5-10 can acquire new knowledge through play. Kimoda's rapid development has been made possible by developing the business idea, concept and brand strategy in parallel with system development. "The development work was very successful because we could work at Cell Network's premises, and because they took total responsibility for the project," says Anna-Carin Månsson, CEO of Kimoda. "We wanted to create a portal to experiences, to give individual visitors the feeling of being immersed in their particular interest. The platform that we chose together, Dynamo from ATG, gives us precisely that flexibility. It means we can now communicate with customers personally." The e-commerce platform is flexible, and extendable in stages to cope with a rapid in-flow of customers. It also makes it possible to create personal relationships with customers by handling different languages, currencies and payment methods. There is also the facility to create personal pages for each individual visitor. "Kimoda's coming internationalisation is made easier by the platform's flexibility, which makes it possible to increase capacity without unnecessary service interruptions," considers Peter Ingman, account manager at Cell Network. "The partnership with ATG, the leading platform suppliers in e-commerce and one-to-one marketing, will bring us great benefits in the future."
