Marcus Bäcklund proposed as board member following merger with Mandator Marcus Bäcklund is leaving his operational responsibilities as chief executive officer of Cell Network in conjunction with the completion of the merger with Mandator at the general meeting on May 30. At the request of the principal owners of Cell Network and Mandator, Marcus Bäcklund will accept a position on the new Cell Network's Board of Directors. Marcus Bäcklund is thus resigning at his own request from his operative role following the general meetings of Cell Network and Mandator on May 30 and has been nominated for a position on the board of directors of the new Cell Network in conjunction with the formal approval of the merger with Mandator. The intention is that the company will be able to take advantage of Marcus Bäcklund's expertise in strategic and international development through his work on the board. Marcus Bäcklund's intention is to start a new business within the digital economy. "Marcus has informed me about his new plans, and I accept his decision," says Jan Carlzon, chairman of Cell Network. "At the same time, I am happy that we will continue to benefit from Marcus' expertise and strong commitment through his work on the board." "I have built Cell Network to the company it is today. The merger with Mandator is going well and will soon be completed," comments Marcus Bäcklund. "I am an entrepreneur at heart, and the decision to start a new company has been developing for some time. At the same time, my position on the board of directors allows me to maintain ties to the company that Jan Carlzon and I started together and in which I continue to feel a deep commitment." More than 90 percent of the shareholders in Cell Network have given their approval of the merger, meaning that it is already unconditional. The merger and integration process between the two companies is proceeding according to plan. The formal decision on the merger of Cell Network and Mandator will be taken at extraordinary general meetings of the two companies to be held on May 30. As previously announced, Mandator's president Niklas Flyborg will become the new president of Cell Network at that time.
