REVISED Shareholder and BusinessWire Communication - CLPT CEO Updates CellPoint's Commercial Progress London, April 18 - CellPoint Inc. (NASD: CLPT; www.cellpt.com) updates shareholders reporting more than 10 installations and field trials of the CellPoint System today. "Our GSM operator partners are faced with fierce competition in their markets and we must respect their needs for confidentiality interim to commercial launches," said Peter Henricsson, Chairman and CEO of CellPoint Inc. "I can disclose that we already have more than 10 operators at various stages of testing enroute to the intended commercial deployment of services, and expect to be able to report further details very soon. The business outlook is truly impressive and we have numerous announcements planned in the coming weeks." "We also recognize that the market needs more information about CellPoint's progress and we intend to provide more frequent status updates on commercial progress," said Henricsson. "Our real progress toward multiple commercial deployments with major European GSM operators has been very substantial, though initially slower than expected and largely due to the complex logistics operators face in rolling out new mass-market services. With our end-to-end solution, CellPoint is in a very strong position, leading the market and well on the way to becoming the dominant provider of Positioning Platforms and Location Services. We have certainly noticed a definite increase in demand in the past few months with an increased urgency to deploy our location services and a stronger acceptance of our business model." CellPoint has developed commercial grade technology and services, and these services are targeted at the mass-market both in vertical and horizontal applications. The market for location services has recently been upgraded to be more than $25 billion. "The number of mobile data users will total over 1 billion worldwide in 2005 - this will exceed users of fixed Internet, which will grow to 740 million during the same period," reports the ARC Group in their new research report Content & Applications for the Wireless Internet. "In conjunction with the anticipated Nasdaq listing, we are also arranging a number of investor meetings in the U.S. and Europe over the coming weeks where we'll discuss the progress of commercial installations," continued Henricsson, noting that CellPoint expects to have at least a dozen commercial deployments under way in 2000. "With the recent volatility in the stock markets, we certainly recognize the need to regularly inform our shareholders and the wire services of our progress and we do intend to do just that."
