CellPoint Expands Location Developers' Zone New Application Catalogue Free For Developers STOCKHOLM and LONDON, January 30, 2002 - CellPoint Inc. (Nasdaq: CLPT), a global provider of mobile location software technology and platforms, announced today it has expanded and enhanced its Location Developers Zone (LDZ). The LDZ provides free and easy access for developers to the open interfaces on CellPoint's Mobile Location System (MLS). The LDZ was established by CellPoint to facilitate third-party development of applications and services targeted to CellPoint's mobile location technology platforms. The LDZ gives developers and content providers access to relevant information, services and testing facilities, enabling them to initiate product integration in a quick and efficient manner. "The LDZ has been a tremendous success since it was launched last summer and interest has exceeded all expectations," said Johan Falk, Vice President of Product Development at CellPoint. "As the use of the LDZ increased dramatically, we have now assembled a free Application Catalogue. The LDZ helps operators and service providers to bring location-based services quickly and cost-effectively to the mass market. Forward-thinking developers should sign up now and exploit the potential of this free marketing tool." Developers that have joined CellPoint's Application Catalogue to date include UnwiredFactory, InfoSpace, AU-Systems, It's Alive and Makor Issues & Rights Ltd. "We believe that the Application Catalogue will be a valuable marketing channel for us," said Morten Bentzen, Business Development Manager at UnwiredFactory. Improvements made to the LDZ through CellPoint's ongoing research include a major facelift and more intuitive features. In addition, it contains a Self-Certification process that enables developers to include a Quality Stamp on their products profiled in the Application Catalogue. This stamp will be visible to mobile operators and service providers scrolling through the selection of services. As the LDZ and its users have become further sophisticated, a professional support level has been introduced to provide help with integration-related issues.
