Order for Naval Guns

Celsius: Order for Naval Guns Visby-class Corvette The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration signed an agreement today with Bofors Weapon Systems, a business unit within the Celsius Group, for the production of additional naval guns for the two Visby-class corvettes ordered earlier this year. Besides the guns for vessels nos. 5 and 6 the contract also includes a reference gun intended for software care and training and a replacement gun. The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration has increased its previous order to a total of seven 57 Mk 3 naval guns along with development, testing, documentation and training of both instructors and users. The guns are scheduled for delivery between 2005 and 2006 and coordinated with installation onboard each vessel at the finalization of delivery tests. It is intended to install the reference gun on completion of the training centre at the Naval College at Berga in Sweden. Holzinger-class Frigate Bofors Weapon Systems, a business unit within the Celsius Group, has signed an agreement with the Mexican navy for the delivery of a number of 57 Mk 3 naval guns with start-up and training, but also the EOS 450 fire control system from Saab Dynamics. This is the first international contract for the 57 Mk 3.
