Strengthens management team to support ongoing growth and success as organisations look to benefit from cloud computing and desktop virtualisation

London, 18 June 2012 – Independent application and desktop delivery specialist Centralis has today announced the appointment of Dr Jonathan Pell as Non-executive Chairman. The appointment follows a formal selection process led by Centralis’ co-founder Ewen Anderson, who continues in his role as Managing Director, and separates the roles of Chairman and Managing Director for the first time. This will allow Centralis to fully capitalise on the opportunities presented by the growing desktop virtualisation and cloud computing markets and build on a period of rapid growth and ongoing success.

Formerly Chief Executive Officer and Board Director at Datanomic, Dr Pell has held a number of high profile executive positions at major IT organisations and has an impressive track record of delivering exceptional results. His tenure as CEO at Datanomic saw the company achieve compound year on year growth of 105 per cent leading to its acquisition by Oracle, where Dr Pell assumed the role of VP Data Quality Strategy. Previously, he has held senior positions at Convergys, Geneva Technologies and Thomas Cook Retail. Dr Pell is also Director of a consultancy providing executive advisory services, a specialist advisor to venture capitalists and a member of the Cambridge ‘Angels’ investment group.

“I’ve got to know Centralis very well during the course of the selection process and I’m very excited by the Company’s capabilities and the knowledge of its people in what are some of the IT industry’s most exciting market areas,” comments Dr Pell.

Centralis has established itself as the UK partner of choice for organisations undertaking significant transformation of their IT function and has experienced annual growth of more than 25 per cent since 2006. Its core strengths in application and desktop delivery mean it is very well positioned to benefit from the opportunities in desktop virtualisation and the emerging cloud computing market.

“Centralis has grown consistently since 2006 and we on the Board felt that it was the right time to separate the roles of Chairman and Managing Director,” states Ewen Anderson, Managing Director, Centralis. “We’re entering an exciting new phase in the desktop virtualisation market, seeing growing interest in cloud-based desktop services and the increasing popularity of consultancy services to help guide organisations as they embark on their transformation ‘journey’. All of these factors play to Centralis’ established strengths. Dr Pell has considerable experience of achieving in high growth markets and the Centralis’ Board is very much looking forward to benefiting from his guidance and expertise.”
