Ceridian bike riders cover 3096 miles to raise £9,000 for the Payback Foundation
Bike riders from Ceridian, one of the UK’s leading HCM technology and service providers, have so far raised £8,943 in aid of the Payback Foundation after completing three separate rides – a 282-mile Arc to Arch (Paris to London) Challenge; a two-day, 120-mile, ‘Tour d’Ecosse’ bike ride from Oban to the company’s flagship HR Shared Serviced Centre at Braehead, near Glasgow; and a 62-mile ride from its regional office in Manchester to Blackpool.
Doug Sawers, managing director at Ceridian UK, said: “The Payback Foundation is our own charity, helping disadvantaged children who live or attend school in the vicinity of one of our five offices in the UK and Ireland. It aims to support named individuals as part of an ongoing and long-term relationship and so far Payback has funded over 170 deserving youngsters through grants exceeding £300,000.
“So far this year, including the three bike rides, Ceridian employees have raised £17,389 for the foundation resulting in Payback approving and supplying specialist apparatus and equipment to 21 children.
“In Braehead, at the end of the 120-mile ride, we presented specially-adapted trikes to two Payback beneficiaries plus a laptop to another. In doing so, we brought together the beneficiaries of the Payback Foundation charity with the people who did the fundraising for them, our Ceridian employees.”
The Payback Foundation was established in 1997.
