Mobile will have biggest impact on organisations over next 10 years according to Ceridian poll at record-breaking conference
According to a poll of over 700 HR, payroll and financial professionals, attending the record-breaking 2015 Ceridian Conference on ‘Technology transforms our world’, mobile will have the biggest impact on organisations over the next ten years. Fifty-three per cent of delegates from different industry sectors and sizes saw mobile as the biggest game-changer, followed by social media at 30 per cent, robotics at seven per cent, wearable technology at six per cent and self-driving cars at four per cent.
David Woodward, chief product and marketing officer, at Ceridian UK said: “The results of this poll accord with our views and product development. Technology is radically changing the ways we work. Organisations want their employees to be able to perform while on the move from any device to enhance their productivity. This is why we have developed the most functionally rich HCM mobile apps in the industry in order to transform the way people work. Ceridian's cloud solutions are designed around employees and their lifestyles. Therefore rich mobile and tablet support is baked in.
“With people, on average, spending more time daily on their mobile devices than sleeping then the challenge for organisations is to keep pace and deliver more to their employees on their devices.”
Conference delegates were also asked if they felt their organisations were keeping pace with technology, 35 per cent of whom agreed while 37 per cent thought they were running to catch up. Sixteen per cent considered their organisations behind while 12 per cent believed they were ahead.
Interestingly, when polled on how tech savvy members of their senior leadership team are, only six per cent deemed they were total novices and 14 per cent beginners. The majority, at 44 per cent, considered them as holding average knowledge with a further 29 per cent regarding them as confident with technology. Seven per cent of senior leaders were rated as total geeks!
The thought-provoking keynote address on ‘Trusting transformation’ at the Ceridian Conference was delivered by Kate Russell, author and reporter on technology programme BBC Click. She also chaired the insightful panel discussion on the conference theme.
The Ceridian Conference was held on March 4 at the London Hilton on Park Lane. Main sponsors were the Corporate Research Forum (CRF), which facilitated the transformative thinking stream, and Unum, who presented on employee assistance programmes.
