CEVIAN CAPITAL LAUNCHES NEW $2 BILLION FUND

Cevian Capital, an operational activist fund manager focused on the Nordic region, closed the initial offering of its Cevian Capital II fund on 30 June, 2006. The offering raised approximately $2 billion from a diversified investor base. Cevian Capital was founded in 2002 by Christer Gardell and Lars Förberg. The strategy is to acquire significant minority ownership positions in publicly listed companies where value can be created through active ownership.
