  • A low-noise amplifier, a travelling-wave parametric amplifier, developed at Chalmers to amplify the weak readout signals from the quantum computer. The amplifier enables more reliable, faster readouts and thus provides the opportunity to run longer algorithms. It is based on passive superconducting elements so that no heat is dissipated in the quantum computer, as heat would both create noise and warm the quantum computer, which only works at extreme low temperatures.
