Anochrome Group Receives Revolutionary Contract from Briggs
The Anochrome Group has re-appointed Briggs Equipment, the UK’s leading independent distributor of materials handling products, as its materials handling supplier in a new contract worth nearly quarter of a million pounds. Briggs’ flexible approach, coupled with bespoke truck modifications, secured the 11-truck fleet deal. The Anochrome Group, which operates three sites across the West Midlands, had recently undergone major changes in its production operations meaning it needed to handle a much wider variety of container types. The coatings specialist, which deals in a highly competitive market, also needed to reduce operational costs whilst maintaining high levels of productivity. To achieve this Briggs supplied specially modified Yale trucks on a revolutionary unlimited hour contract. Vince Sherwood, works manager of the Anochrome Group’s electroplating and patching divisions, commented: “This type of contract is a first and it’s due to Briggs’ thorough understanding of our operation that they could offer this flexibility. It means we are guaranteed the highest levels of uptime with no unexpected bills.” The 1.8 and 2.0 tonne diesel engine Yale trucks have the latest Bolzoni fork rotator attachment to handle the different container types with precision and security. Further truck modifications were also made to help reduce damage and running costs. Andrew Homer, account manager for Briggs Equipment, explains: “All of the Yale machines were specified with Yale’s techtronix transmissions including auto braking to maximise the life of the tyres. By preventing wheel spin this transmission reduces driver fatigue and an added auto shutdown system minimises wastage of fuel and running hours.” The long-term rental contract includes eight machines at Wolverhampton Electroplating, two at Anochrome Walsall and one at Anochrome Bloxwich each with a dedicated Briggs engineer for all-in service and maintenance. Vince Sherwood added: “We have enjoyed a 13 year relationship with Briggs who have always provided a good, reliable service. The Yale machines will really help us overcome the challenges we faced as well as improving operational safety and reducing bottom line costs.” - - - ENDS - - - View this release on Briggs Equipment’s media centre: http://media.changeworkscom.co.uk/release/92964/anochrome-group-recieves-revolutionary-contract-from-briggs.html Images to accompany this release: Caption: Vince Sherwood (left), works manager of the Anochrome Group’s electroplating and patching divisions with Andrew Homer (right), account manager for Briggs Equipment.
