BIBBY CONSULTING & SUPPORT HELPS STRENGHTEN CARE HOME COMPLIANCE

Bibby Consulting & Support, compliance experts in health and safety and employment law, has appointed two new health, safety and environment consultants to strengthen its care homes team to support the demand for compliance services in the care home sector. Accidents in the sector have been steadily increasing with a total of 4,503 injuries reported in 2008/09. And during a series of recent inspections, the Health and Safety Executive found evidence of poor compliance with key health and safety requirements in the care homes sector. The new positions will see Samantha Sharp and Jennifer Grey provide health, safety and environment support to over 100 of the company’s care homes customers. They will be responsible for ensuring that care homes comply with current health and safety regulations. “It will be my responsibility to ensure that all of our care homes are given the utmost support to make working environments safe for both employees and residents,” says Samantha. Both new appointments bring a wealth of senior health and safety knowledge and expertise to their roles. Samantha has come from supporting facility managers with a degree in social welfare and Jennifer has been a health and safety manager for a number of companies within the manufacturing industry. “I am delighted to be joining such a strong team of experts,” commented Jennifer. “I am looking forward to the challenges that the role will bring as well as broadening my knowledge and skills base.” In addition, both Samantha and Jennifer will be joining the company’s training team where they will be delivering a number of courses dedicated to health, safety and the environment.
