CONTRACT RENEWAL BRINGS UNFAILING SERVICE TO EUROPE’S LARGEST PALLET NETWORK

Palletised distribution company, Palletways has seen three years of 100 per cent uptime and 98.8 per cent on time delivery after renewing its contract with Briggs Equipment, the UK’s national Cat® Lift Truck distributor and service provider. Briggs designed a bespoke new fleet of 54 LPG Cat machines for the midlands hub to reach maximum productivity output as well as minimising life time costs. West Midlands-based Palletways handles a variety of products for a wide range of businesses. It runs a 24 hour operation, six nights a week and achieves a massive 25,000 pallet movements in each shift. The fleet of 2.5 tonne counterbalance trucks effectively move one pallet every second, loading and unloading up to 250 lorries per night. Briggs’ bespoke truck solution and outstanding on-site service support keeps this demanding operation running reliably and efficiently. Darren Field, Key Account Manager of Briggs commented, “Palletways used to get through a set of front tyres every 300 hours. We fitted the Cat fleet with a unique traction control system which has prevented wheel spin completely, even on wet or dirty floors.
