The UK’s largest independent supplier of Konecranes port and terminal equipment, Cooper SH, will be exhibiting one of its largest second-rail reach stackers at IMHX 2010 in Birmingham this November. The company will also be presenting its latest safety alert and fleet management tools; NearGuard and Eco Drive which were launched earlier in the year. The 45 tonne capacity reach stacker will be situated inside the hall on Cooper SH’s stand. “We want to put into perspective just how big and robust these trucks really are,” says David Cooper, managing director of Cooper SH. “Photographs and videos simply don’t do the machines any justice.” Throughout the event, Cooper SH will be informing visitors about NearGuard and Eco Drive which can help optimise yard and terminal safety and reduce customers’ overall machine running costs. NearGuard is an alert system that warns drivers when any objects or operators come within close proximity of a truck. “The NearGuard system brings a whole new level to operator safety; one that could prevent accidents from happening again,” says David Cooper. Eco Drive works via an onboard computerised system that can help fleet owners save £11,000 in fuel costs by monitoring driver behaviour. “Poor driving habits have the most significant impact on the environment,” claims David Cooper. “Operators believe that throttling the engine to maximum speed will gain optimum hydraulic performance. This practice actually sees slower working machines burning more fuel than necessary, which only amounts to larger fuel bills,” he explained. This will be the fourth consecutive year Cooper SH has attended the IMHX show and the first year it will be represented under the Cooper SH brand (previously SMV UK). Cooper SH’s stand is located at stand number 20G120 during the show at the NEC, Birmingham from 16-19 November 2010. - ENDS - Image to support this release: High res image to download for print: click here
