A Cannock-based company has enlisted the help of a host of ‘celebrities’ to raise money for Children in Need. Staff at Briggs Equipment hope to raise more than £2,500 by dressing up as their favourite stars and cleaning the cars of passing motorists. All the money they raise will be matched by the company, which is the UK’s leading supplier of Cat® Lift Trucks. The car wash will take place on Friday, November 20 between 10:00 and 16:00 with teams of four employees ‘cleaning-up’ for charity. Drivers will be able to throw their donations into buckets that the volunteers will be carrying. The ‘celebrities’ which will include Elvis and Marilyn Monroe will also be joined by Briggs’ Director of Operations, Gavin Wickham, who will be joining in the fun and swapping his briefcase for a jet washer. “The BBC Children in Need Appeal is a charity close to us here at Briggs. Every year it is making a difference to so many children, we are proud to be associated with this worthy cause,” commented Gavin. In addition to the celebrity car wash, the company will be hosting a variety of other internal fund-raising activities for the whole week, commencing November 16. These activities include, ‘Quiz Day’, ‘Big Cake Bake’, ‘Dress Down, Dress Up’ and ‘Director’s Job Swap’. - - - ENDS - - -
