Manufacturing companies in London that have suffered as a result of the current economic slowdown are being urged to arm themselves with the tools they need to survive the recession. The National Skills Academy for Manufacturing (The Skills Academy) has organised a series of workshops to deliver a welcome ‘Recession Toolkit’ to any business operating in the manufacturing sector. Explained Richard Wyatt, the Skills Academy’s Regional Manager for London: “Manufacturers across the UK have been badly hit by the current economic climate but we hope to demonstrate that by developing an effective action plan they can give themselves the best chance of weathering the storm. “Made up of three, three hour workshops, the programme is tailored specifically for manufacturing companies and will be delivered by Bob James, a successful company director with hands on experience of the sector.” As well as attending the workshops, which will be held at the Wembley Plaza Hotel, delegates will also have access to a dedicated web-site with automated calculations, worksheets and resources to help them analyse their own business. “I would urge any business involved in manufacturing to consider taking part in the Recession Toolkit programme as it will not only help them survive today but also prosper once the recovery is underway,” added Mr Wyatt. The workshops take place on June 9, 16 and 23 from 3.00pm to 6.00 and will be followed by refreshments and the opportunity to network with other manufacturers. The cost of the programme is £500+VAT although Companies may be eligible for full funding through the Leadership and Management SME grant.
