Temporary closures for three Charlotte Mecklenburg Libraries to occur over next two weeks
We’re making our libraries better, but that means temporary closures over the next two weeks for Davidson, West Boulevard and North County Regional libraries. Davidson is closing for minor renovations, while West Boulevard and North County will close for parking lot improvements. Details below:
Davidson Library (119 South Main Street, Davidson): Will close early at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17 and will be closed all day March 18 and 19. While the library will be closed, patrons can still call the Davidson Library phone number for questions at (704) 416-4000. The book drop will still be available and those needing a physical facility may consider visiting neighboring Cornelius Library at 21105 Catawba Avenue, Cornelius, NC 28031.
Why: Making improvements to the heating and cooling system (HVAC) as well as adding a study alcove and other improvements as part of regular library facilities planning.
West Boulevard Library (2157 West Boulevard, Charlotte): Will be closed all day Thursday March 19, Friday, March 20 and Saturday, March 21. The book drop will be locked during the closure. To return materials, please visit any of our other libraries. The closest to West Boulevard is the Scaleybark Library which is located on 101 Scaleybark Road, near the Light Rail Station. The phone number is (704) 416-6400.
Why: Needed parking lot repairs as part of the County’s regular parking lot maintenance program.
North County Regional (16500 Holly Crest Lane, Huntersville): Will be closed Thursday, March 26, Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28. The book drop will be locked during the closure. To return materials, please visit any of our other libraries.
Why: Needed parking lot repairs as part of the County’s regular parking lot maintenance program.
We apologize for any inconvenience these closures may cause. For a list of all library locations visit www.cmlibrary.org/locations
NOTE: Because parking lot work is weather dependent, these dates are subject to change. Any updates will be posted to the Library's newsroom: www.cmlibrary.org/about_us/in_the_news.
