Charter Fuels donates to American Breast Cancer Foundation with Pink Ribbon delivery truck

LANCASTER, Wis. – Wisconsin clean energy provider Charter Fuels has teamed with the American Breast Cancer Foundation to raise money for breast cancer research and promote awareness with their “Pink Ribbon” propane delivery truck.

Be on the lookout for the Charter Fuels Pink Ribbon truck, which is painted in the trademark pink of the breast cancer awareness campaign. For each gallon of propane gas the truck delivers throughout Southwest Wisconsin, a donation will be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation. It is the only Pink Ribbon propane delivery truck in locations served by Charter Fuels.

“October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but promoting early detection and funding research is a crucial, year-round cause,” says Charter Fuels President Doug Pink. “The Pink Ribbon truck is a great opportunity to support the battle against breast cancer by donating towards research, while continuing to provide area residents with a clean-burning and cost-effective energy source.”

Propane gas is a more economical, environmentally friendly energy source than electricity for residential and business heating needs. Propane costs about half as much per BTU on average, so gas appliances pay for themselves quickly with money saved on energy expenses. Using propane gas is also less harmful to the environment. Nearly 50 percent of U.S. electricity is produced by coal-fired power plants, and coal emits more than twice the amount of carbon dioxide as propane per pound of fuel burned. “Charter Fuels has been a family-owned business for four generations in Wisconsin, so giving back to the community is a big priority for us,” says Pink. “The Pink Ribbon truck is our way of supporting a cause that affects millions of Americans, including our friends, family and customers here in Wisconsin.”
