Salt Lake City, August 1, 2011ChartLogic, a leading provider of EHR solutions to surgical specialists, announced today that Meli Orthopedics has selected the ChartLogic EHR Suite. The clinic, specializing in the treatment of shoulder and knee disorders, includes five orthopedic physicians including Paul I. Meli, MD, FACS, FAAOS. Dr. Meli is chief of the Department of Surgery at Fort Lauderdale’s Holy Cross Hospital and one of South Florida’s leading orthopedic surgeons.

The clinic has purchased the ChartLogic EHR Suite including the ChartLogic EMR (electronic medical record), ChartLogic Document Management, ChartLogic ePrescribe, ChartLogic Patient Portal and ChartLogic Practice Management. With these tools, physicians in the medical group will be able to prescribe medications electronically, improve coding accuracy with special orthopedic templates and communicate with patients through a patient portal.

ChartLogic’s EHR suite has earned full (complete system) ONC-ATCB certification for the government’s program for meaningful use of EHRs. More than two dozen ChartLogic customers have already qualified for meaningful use incentives.

“We selected ChartLogic because our physicians found it easy to use and it fit our practice workflow very well. With our new certified EHR system, we are confident we will be able to meet the meaningful use requirements later this year. The icing on the cake was the excellent customer service; the ChartLogic team is very knowledgeable and has provided a high level of support and training,” said Tina Cestnick, office manager, Meli Orthopedics.

“Busy orthopedics practices need a specialized EHR so they can quickly enter clinical information and send and receive patient records. They also need to be able to meet the government’s meaningful use requirements. That’s why ChartLogic has emerged as the EHR of choice for many high-volume specialists including orthopedists, ophthalmologists, cardiologists and podiatrists,” said Brad Melis, CEO, ChartLogic.
