ChemImage Founder to Be Named a Fellow of the Society of Applied Spectroscopy at Annual Meeting
PITTSBURGH, Sept. 21, 2011 — Patrick Treado, Ph.D., ChemImage Founder and Chief Technology Officer, will be recognized on Oct. 4 as a Fellow of the Society of Applied Spectroscopy (SAS) during the Federation of Analytical Chemistry and Spectroscopy Societies (FACSS) Annual Meeting in Reno, Nev.
The award acknowledges up to 12 fellows annually for their service to the society, as well as their exceptional contributions to the field of spectroscopy.
“I’m extremely honored to be recognized by my peers with such a distinction,” said Treado. “It makes all of the hard work I’ve devoted to developing and advancing chemical imaging applications and technologies over the years that much more worthwhile.”
A recognized leader and pioneer in the field of chemical imaging, Treado is the author of more than 150 publications and patents on chemical imaging technology, methodology and applications. In addition to being named a Fellow of the SAS, Treado is a past recipient of the 2010 Coblentz Society Williams-Wright Award and 1998 Coblentz Award, as well as the 1995 and 1993 Meggers Awards for his significant contributions to the field of applied spectroscopy.
