Moldova Innovation Technology Park Shines at Web Summit Lisbon 2023
Chișinău, Moldova - 01.12.2023 – Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP), in collaboration with the Investment Agency (AI), has successfully concluded its participation at Web Summit Lisbon, one of the most significant global technology conferences. Held from November 13 to 16, the event attracted over 70,236 attendees and featured 2,608 startups.
At Web Summit, MITP and AI showcased the dynamic and innovative nature of Moldova's IT sector. The stand, uniquely designed for interactive engagement, presented 61 compelling reasons to invest in Moldova’s burgeoning tech industry, drawing significant attention from global tech leaders and investors
The primary aim was to elevate Moldova as a premier tech destination. This mission was further bolstered by the presence of the five Moldova Innovation Awards (MIA) winners, alongside other leading Moldovan tech companies, thereby highlighting the depth and diversity of Moldova's tech talent.
The participation in Web Summit Lisbon 2023 was a strategic move to bolster Moldova's visibility in the global tech arena. The event provided an unparalleled platform for networking, initiating conversations with potential investors, and establishing partnerships vital for the growth of Moldova's tech sector.
This initiative aligns with MITP's ongoing commitment to nurturing a vibrant tech ecosystem in Moldova. Through such international exposures, MITP continues to facilitate and promote innovation, positioning the country as a competitive player in the global tech landscape.
The participation at Web Summit was made possible through the support of the Future Technologies Activity Innovate Moldova, funded by USAID Moldova, the Embassy of Sweden in Chisinau, UKAid, and the Western NIS Enterprise Fund. Their support underscores the collective effort in propelling the local tech industry onto the international stage.

Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP), Europe's first e-Park, has reached a new milestone with over 1500 resident companies now as members of the park. This remarkable achievement signals the park's rapid growth since its founding just 5 years ago. The park is now host to companies originating from 38 countries, representing a fourfold growth over the last 5 years. The park has seen notable growth over the years as a hub for tech companies to develop their ideas thanks to the opportunities it provides for tech companies.
MITP aims to position Moldova as an emerging tech hub in Eastern Europe by providing a supportive environment for companies. Resident foreign companies now account for 40% of the park's employees. Moldova maintains its commitment to developing its tech ecosystem, focusing its efforts on reaching the next milestones through further expanding the number of resident companies and employees, with a goal of at least doubling these figures.
