Chisinau, February 9th 2024: In a historic moment for the Moldovan wine industry, 18 leading producers will showcase their wines at the upcoming Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris trade fair. This maiden voyage to the City of Light will celebrate a decade of industry renewal,  as key stakeholders continue to invest in vineyard modernisation, state-of-the-art winery equipment, and sustainable tourism. Meanwhile, indigenous varieties from a new wave of artisan growers are making waves in export markets, building on the success of the industry's marketing campaign: '10 Revolutionary Years of Building a National Wine Brand'. Buoyed by limitless ambition, this is a wine-producing country in the ascendant.

Opening Monday 12 February, Vinexpo Paris will host an audience of wine professionals from across the world. Over three days, visitors can expect a thorough entry into the thrilling wines - and unique terroirs - of the diverse Moldovan landscape: participating wineries will be located in Hall 5.2 at the stand B161.

“The Moldovan climate is mild with usefully long, relatively warm summers and just the right amount of rainfall Furthermore, many vineyards can boast of two similarities with fashionable Burgundy: latitude and limestone,” says renowned critic Jancis Robinson MW. Local grape varieties include the tannic Fetească Neagră and the pungently aromatic Rară Neagră. These esoteric gems will take pride of place at a masterclass scheduled for Wednesday 14 February at 13:30pm in Room 3, Hall 5.2. The Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to France, Mrs Corina Călugăru, will play a key role at the masterclass, emphasizing the importance of Moldovan wines to the nation's future prosperity and rich cultural life. The event will be hosted by Stefan Iamandi, Director of the National Vine and Wine Office and Robert Joseph: leading author, journalist and consultant.

Wine of Moldova looks forward to welcoming you to this landmark event.
