Scandinavian ChemoTech AB’s subsidiary VQ Animal Care has received an order and entered a strategic partnership with the University of Copenhagen’s veterinary hospitals, including both the small companion animal hospital and the Equine Department. The order further strengthens ChemoTech’s growing international network of university partnerships.

The University of Copenhagen is a significant partner for ChemoTech and VQ Animal Care, joining the company’s network of university collaborations that already includes veterinary institutions in Norway, Sweden, Turkey and the United Kingdom. Through this partnership, VQ Animal Care’s TSE (Tumor Specific Electroporation) treatment, next generation of Electrochemotherapy will be introduced across both small companion animal and equine clinical settings.

We are very pleased that a university with such long-standing clinical and research experience in Electroporation has decided to upgrade to the new TSE (Tumor Specific Electroporation). The University of Copenhagen is a significant partner for us, and this collaboration further validates our ambition to establish TSE as an important treatment option in modern veterinary oncology,” says Mohan Frick, CEO of Scandinavian ChemoTech AB.

This collaboration and commercial agreement represent another important step in VQ Animal Care’s strategy to build strong academic partnerships with leading veterinary universities. By working closely with university hospitals, VQ Animal Care aims to support clinical adoption, research, education and the continued development of safer and more precise cancer treatment options for animals. TSE is designed to help reduce the destruction of healthy tissue and, particularly in equine medicine, may reduce the need for general anesthesia.

The partnership also broadens the clinical reach of VQ Animal Care’s technology by covering both small companion animals and horses, two important areas where veterinarians continue to seek improved treatment alternatives for cancer patients.
