NFIB's Week in Small Business

Before adjourning last week, the U.S. House passed several measures benefiting small business. But a new California law mandating paid sick leave poses a big threat to small business growth. House measures that help small business include:

  • Setting small business tax-expensing levels at $500,000
  • Redefining full-time employment under Obamacare as 40 hours per week
  • Expediting construction of the Keystone XL pipeline

Meanwhile, small business owners in California now have to deal with a new law mandating paid sick leave for almost all employees. NFIB sees this as an emerging trend across the country, and will continue to fight for small business owners on this issue. NFIB's Week in Small Business video series keeps you up-to-date on issues affecting small business owners.Watch More Video From NFIBContact: Tim Kellytim.kelly@chernoffnewman.com803.233.2459
