New benefit program for NFIB members saves up to 15 percent of fuel management expenses

Small businesses can save up to 15 percent on fuel management expenses under a new program launched today by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) and WEX Inc., a global leader in fuel card payment processing and information technology consulting.

“Managing fuel costs is a substantial expense for small businesses that maintain vehicle fleets and we’re proud to have found a partner whose experience and reach can be a real value for our members,” said NFIB Sr. Vice President of Marketing Mark Garzone.

NFIB is the country’s leading advocate for small business owners with offices in all 50 states.  Many of its members, like contractors, transportation companies and limo services, maintain vehicle fleets for which managing fuel costs can be complicated and expensive.  The new partnership with WEX Inc. is designed especially for them.

“Roughly half of our members are already WEX Inc. customers, so it’s a natural fit,” said Garzone.  “Every member is eligible for the rewards and it’s another great reason for small business owners to join NFIB.”

Under the program NFIB members will get special savings on fuel purchase payment processing.  In addition, WEX Inc. will waive the fees for setting up accounts and new purchase cards.  Members will receive periodic reports on all of their fuel purchase activity and they’ll have access to WEX’s secure online tools to help them better manage their costs.

“We’re excited about the relationship because it connects our members with another great resource that can help them save money and time that they can reinvest in their businesses,” said Garzone.
